The sound quality of these speakers is much better than the stock speakers you get with most laptops. Another reviewer (Dave Thompson) gave a great tip for changing the property settings for these speakers, which I'll repeat here: Find "Properties" in "Playback Devices" for this device, go to the "Enhancements" tab and turn them on Bass Boost, Virtual Surround Sound, and Volume Equalization. Set the level for this device to 100% on the Level tab as well. If you don't change the property settings, the sound quality won't be much better than the laptop speakers. The 100% level was too loud for me, so I set the level to around 70%. I had a little trouble finding these property settings. But once I found them and made changes, the sound was much better. As long as these speakers last a while (just bought) they're a good choice at a reasonable price.
