Buy a pipe at a hardware store and you'll have something that works better than this thing. The hand pump and all connections are air and water permeable. You get what you pay for, buyers beware.

Mesh is strong. I felt like the vacuum didn't suck up the dirt enough when I used it, but my aquarium looked a lot better afterwards, so I was wrong. I bought this for my 5 gallon tank so the product was a little more than I needed. Also, it was very easy to use.

I've only used it once so far but it worked well. I like this because the water goes back into the tank instead of being dumped into another bucket like a siphon. However, it says it's battery operated, but it does have an adapter that needs to be plugged in. Not sure if it will work in a saltwater pool.

I like it a lot! I use the bait when I do a complete water change in my replenishment tank. And I remove the bait when I do a 25% water change, whether it's meant to sift through the top layer of sand or just soak up feed particles. The net I use to grab a river rock on the ground so I don't have to get elbow-deep in the tank!

This gravel cleaner is excellent! The squish ball makes pouring water quick and easy. A long hose ensures that water from the tank can be easily poured into a bucket for disposal (with little risk of falling out of the bucket and making a mess), and a valve allows you to limit the water flow, however to "suck" anyway. I then removed the hand pump, it did not work at all. Luckily after removing the connector it still fits so I can now use it like a regular siphon which you fill by filling the big end with water and tipping it up (try this instead of sucking up the hose it is much cleaner! ).
