Escape Proof and Natural

A beautiful addition to any living space. This dish effectively catches mealworms and includes snacks for your reptiles to enjoy during their free time. I took off a star because it's harder to clean than my ceramic cookware. Resin has a more textured surface than ceramic and tends to get dirty after a while, requiring more thorough cleaning. Other than that, this is an amazing dish! If you are looking for something natural, this dish is for you!

Pros
  • Perfect for me

  • Incredible Piggy Bank

Works great with terrarium bowls

I was having a problem with mealworms flying out of the feeder and it was driving me insane knowing I was putting 15 mealworms in a bowl and my leopard gecko Chito could only eat 8 of them. So I went to Revain to find the best way to feed my lion. I soon came across this beauty and realized that my little predator would like her. Now I can put his food on a plate and they stay there for a few days until he decides to come and eat them up. - A bit painful but that's why I bought it and gave it 5

The detachable top was a bad idea.

Good. The concept is great. The lip comes out enough where they fall over the exit. The problem is that the top is loose. It is meant to be removed so you can clean it. But the problem here is that small feeders like bsfl can easily squeeze through. Within an hour I was crawling around his pelvis a lot which I tried to stop. Here's what I did, I used a hot glue gun and sealed it on the inside and then covered the outside edges so they couldn't come loose. I give Exoterra 4 stars because theโ€ฆ

Happy with it, best in reptiles and amphibians

Recently we have had problems with a lot of mealworms escaping our first feeder. Not sure if they got hit by a gecko or crawled out or both as some of them were smaller. I had never seen anything like it and figured there wouldn't hurt to try. Reviews seem mixed about what else can or can't be taken out, it depends on the size of the plate (we bought a medium one) or just the fit of the lid. This bowl feels very solid, the lid is a bit loose but not enough to be knocked out or crawl throughโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

I really wanted to like it but it's just too expensive and has a number.

I give it a low rating because judging by the photos and the price as it is intended for feeding insects I thought it would be smooth inside but it's texture is so mealy worms can crawl out too. The other downside is that the top doesn't fit the bottom perfectly, which is what I have, so it rocks and there's even room for them to crawl through the gap. I use it now for dubia roaches, which can climb it too, but I suppose it doesn't matter since mealworms can too, and roaches have more proteinโ€ฆ

  • Very good value for money

  • Does not fit all

Great dish!

This feeder is awesome! I used to have to throw worms in my bearded dragon's tank every day and wait for him to eat them so I could pick them back, but not anymore! A few worms escaped, only 2 but I had these super worms for a while and they were quite large. So it doesn't really surprise me that they managed to find a way out. But even with a few fugitives it was worth it, and my bearded dragon knew immediately where the worms were. Artists (if you use large worms, smaller worms like phoenixโ€ฆ

10 year replacement

The worm tray was literally the best meal for my insectivorous lizard. Received this as a replacement after the top of my bowl fell and cracked on the floor. Think about my last bowl of mealworms, which I ate in almost 10 years. Besides, the deal with Revain was too good to resist. It contains more than just mealworms. I've put superworms, waxworms and even tomato worms in the bowl and never had a problem escaping. However, based on my experience, I must warn you that some reptiles may take aโ€ฆ
