Faster than cheaper options

You can get a cheaper 246GB flash drive, but it won't be as fast. I tested using the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test (which tests video capture speed) on a 2016 MacBook Pro (Mojave). The attached screenshot shows results that are very close to advertised with a read speed of 382 MB/s and a write speed of 176 MB/s. This was with the drive plugged directly into my MacBook via a USB power adapter. When used via the CalDigit dock, speeds were slightly slower (316 reads, 117 writes). In comparison, the…

Writes very quickly (see details). Highly Recommended

One would think that the ubiquity of flash drives would already make them a commodity with a minimal model for performance and performance modeling. While I certainly forgive you for making such an assumption, that is not the case at all. The sad fact is that capacity is an easy selection criteria, but performance varies widely. At $46, the HP x770w 256GB is significantly more expensive than most other 256GB flash drives (and even some 512GB and 1TB drives!). If you want to know why, all you…

Fast flash drive for computers and accessories

I usually hate using flash drives to move large files because they are very slow. I usually use 2.5 USB drives for these purposes. You are much faster. But I'm worried about carrying them around as they are mechanical and subject to minor knocks that will damage the drive. With this drive I no longer have the slow transfer speeds of classic flash drives. In comparison, the transfer is very fast and I don't have to worry about this device falling or bumping during transport. You can even tuck…

Fast and Reliable Flash Drive

. I ordered an HP 256G flash drive. HP is a reputable manufacturer but I had no experience with their flash drives. It is a good looking product and its metal body gives the impression of a quality product. I like that the USB connector can be removed for protection instead of having to remove the cap which is too easy to lose. There is also a slot for attaching a lanyard if desired. The drive is USB 3.1 technology, which the manufacturer says offers read speeds of up to 400MB/s and write…

Great flash drive!

I love this flash drive! The metal construction makes it durable and beautiful. The drive has a slide-out design for USB connectivity and feels pretty solid. This drive also has a built in loop at the end that can be used to attach it to a lanyard. The storage capacity is very large at 256 GB. The big advantage of this drive is that it has a USB 3.1 connection for super-fast data transfer. With this drive you can move large files quickly and easily. I use this drive with a video capture card to
