Reuse drain instead of opening wall

Renovation isn't fun. Socket saver shot. Cut the old pipe as close to the fitting as possible and the connection will be clean in minutes. I let the drill/bit do its job instead of pushing hard - found the pipe/glue almost melted instead of chipping. It smelled a little, so I'm probably a little dumb, but I saved myself the drywall work.

Pros
  • High score for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • No instructions

Great tool, best for pipe, fittings and accessories

If you've ever had to reinstall couplings and can't remove the main Y-piece, this is the best tool. I was able to use the tool to drill a 1.5" Schedule 40 pipe out of a mailbox. Y In the previous installation, the clutch flares were closed to cut and add the clutch. Drilled out the old pipe and sanded it down with some sandpaper, installed the new 1.5" pipe and you're done. Note: Rotate at slow speed or the PCV will melt and make a mess. Low speed produces small chips and looks cleaner.

  • Ideal for a small home

Absolute screensaver of the project!

Excellent tool. The tool is designed to be perfectly centered on the inside diameter of the pipe being drilled from the fitting. Leaves a near-perfect nest for your new whistle. I've tried several methods to remove old pipe from a 1.5" PVC fitting. Including heating, chipping and some other YouTube style guidelines. It took precedence over all other methods. Being able to drill a 'new' socket for the new wire saved me a lot of drywall work. This is one of those tools that isn't used very often,

Ideal for pipe fittings

This "nest saver" is easy to use and works very well. A few tips: First, use a slow drill speed as others have mentioned and make sure to keep the drill straight in both axes (up and down, left and right). Second use heavy duty PVC cement as the surface on the left is quite rough. I also recommend using a utility knife to flatten the drilled fitting. This is one of those tools that you would never believe would work until you see it. No great skills required. If I hired a plumber to do what I…

Amazingly surprised

This tool is not for everyone as the average person only needs it once in a lifetime. But I'm a professional jack of all trades. And nothing else can do what this tool does. I had a sink in an old hospital that someone converted into a press from old cast iron and caulked the wall. The entire ABS pipe was glued on so I had to cut it open to fix the pipe leaving only the piece attached to the cast iron. Well I bought this life saver and I'm hoping for the best because the pipe was really old and

Can save you time and money

So far I've only tried the 3" but it has worked amazingly. It has saved me a lot of time and work. These items are rarely used but are worth checking out too to buy in situations just in case.I had to remove a broken street 45 press from a press t shirt that had been glued on many, many years ago.Cutting the tee wasn't easy considering "that half of it went through a log wall in the basement and the other side was not only 5ft of backfill but also a patio so like I said that saved me. Someone…

Saved me a headache and an empty wallet!

I am renovating one of our bathrooms that has a double sink. I got concerned when the new vanity tops didn't match the old traps. I figured I would have to call in professionals to redo the plumbing. I found out about Ram Bit by watching some YouTube videos. I was happy to see this villain on Revain and was able to get him in 2 days. It looked easy enough so I decided to give it a try. I'm so happy I did! This beat is well designed and did the job for me! Simply line up the drill bit with the…

Where have you been all my life?

Worked great. A lot of work saved. The bathroom was remodeled with a double sink, so the plumbers had to move the plumbing to fit the sink and rough entry. The new cabinets are separate so you can return the drain to its original condition without damaging the wall. Operating Advice: Cut the pipe as close to the fitting as possible without cutting the fitting. Use the drill at high speed. The first drain was slow and with little effort. On the second drain I put the drill on high speed and this

Did a job on plumbing, fittings and supplies

I had to remove the tee so I could change the sink from a double to a single sink. Due to the way it was installed I didn't have enough room to cut it past the tee so I cut the tee where it was glued to the drain and used this little jig, to hollow it out and install the new piece. . The plumber wanted $350. Right. It's not the easiest thing to use because if you're not careful you can come off the corner and ruin the piece. I walked slowly. Wait a few seconds, pause, clear it, see how things…
