The transponder could not be programmed. Useless

I wanted to program them and nobody just did the programming. I got the store to program one but after about a week it started not starting my car. THESE SUCK! 2001 Grand Marquis

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

New keys work great

I carved them for free at Home Depot and was able to program them at home on my laptop using Forscan and an OBD2 USB cable (I had to do it this way as I don't have the 2nd generation). original key). The new keys fit my 2004 Ford Mustang perfectly.

Pros
  • Confident

With keyless entry systems only one worked

Only one of the keys was programmable. The other could not be programmed by two different stores. I gave up and threw it away. In addition, they are flat plains. The locksmith had the ones that said "Ford" on them, but I've already bought the regular ones. :-(

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Legacy model

Get this brand it sure works

To be honest I haven't even had these keys cut yet but I've already bought 6 other keys At two of these the keychain had built into the key and they all work great so I took my time cutting these last two. They were all from the same Revain company and they all work great so yes I would definitely recommend this key distributor

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Only available in white

Worked great! Best Interior

Compared to the outrageous prices dealers, locksmiths and hardware stores charge for these chip keys, this was a great purchase. I highly recommend that you craft spares while you have 2 working keys as it took 2 working keys to program the new ones. I was nervous but the instructions in the owner's manual were easy and took less than a minute to complete. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Great for a Small Home
Cons
  • Some Difficulties

Programmed them with Autel MK808

I had a key for my 2001 Ford F-150 and as most people know you need a scanner to add extras when you only have one to start with. If you have two keys to start with and need a third or fourth, this can be done without any scan tools. These keys were cut at my local hardware store for only $1 a key. The first store I went to refused to cut them. For what it's worth I used an Autel MK808 scan tool to access the Ford PATS system and program these keys. Worked beautifully.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Its worth it! They are simply well programmed!

At first I was skeptical because of the $12 price tag when Ace hardware was charging $70 for slicing and programming. I went ahead and bought them, I couldn't find a big shop to cut them, luckily my neighbor is a locksmith so he cut them for me. I ordered a USB OBD2 connector from Revain and downloaded forscan. I followed the buddy program on the forscan website and they programmed. Generally I have $12 for 2 keys and $11 for an adapter plus about 30 minutes to program a set of 2 keys. Big…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Exchange availability

UPDATE: These keys work fine on a 2002 Mustang GT!

These are the correct blanks for the 2002 Mustang GT. Since I only had one Mustang master key I paid a local locksmith to program the GT with those keys and now I have three master keys (those two Keyless2Go keys and one Ford original master key) for the car. I originally wanted to try to program this myself, but the locksmith only charged me $80 so I went with it - it was $50 cheaper than other local handymen and a lot cheaper than the Ford store. Please note that if you already have two…

Worked great on a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis

Walmart wouldn't cut keys, but a neighborhood hardware store cut both keys for $5. Walmart sold the same transceiver key (just one) for $61 + commission. The procedure for a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis requires TWO original keys, otherwise the keys will need to be programmed by the dealer. Steps: 1. Insert the original #1 key into the starter and turn it to the "on" position for 2-10 seconds.2. Remove key no. 1.3. Within 10 seconds, insert the original #2 key into the starter and turn it to the…

WORKS WELL WITH MY OLD 1997 MERCURY SABLE

I have an old 1997 Mercury Sable with just a key and a keyless door lock control. I ordered a new uncut replacement H72 car key with Keyless2Go transponder ignition (2 pack), the mechanic cut them out ($4 each - Home Depot wouldn't cut them for me) and then followed the instructions in my car's owner's manual. Program transponders. Here are the instructions in case they help someone: 1- Turn the original transponder key from ON to OFF. 2- Remove the key and within 15 seconds insert a new key…
