To be honest I probably misused the product

To be honest I probably misused the product but I want to warn others about it. I used it to try to sew up a new tin vent pipe from a wood stove that was emitting smoke. Although it seemed to do the trick at first and produced no smoke on the first or possibly second burn after use, shortly after I noticed a piece was coming off and upon checking I found that the material had run all the way down the seam come off and just lie down. over the seam. Was it just luck?

UPDATE. That doesn't change my rating. Just wanted to share that for my situation I used about 2/3 of a tube. It was about 60 running inches. And apparently I didn't use enough. I notice that a corner has loosened after about a week. As a result of the opening, the rest of the product was hardened near the hole and therefore it was tedious to move it out of the way to get at the good material. But I managed to reattach the corner and I wanted to share that you shouldn't be too stingy when using
