I've used optical cables for years, and they do sound great but with many devices the cheap plastic tipped ones move around and you end up having to make adjustments because the sound quality isn't that great and the plastic pieces shift around and distort the audio. Well I decided to try these to fix that because I got tired of trying to find the sweet spot to keep my older cables from sounding like crap. I was happier than I expected when these arrived and I connected them. The sound quality improved on the computer I used them with, and have plans on buying more to replace other cables on other devices in the near future. So far I use them on a headphone that I connected to the optical port on my cable box so if I watch TV at night in my home office it doesn't keep anyone else from sleeping, and from a HDMI switch that I use to allow me to use one of my 3 monitors as a TV while I'm working, The quality is much better than I'd expect for the price I paid for 2 of these cables. The only caution I would advise is that these are a little longer than typical cables so if you're going to use them in a device with limited clearance such a a wall mounted TV with an optical port located behind the the TV, get a 90 degree adapter if you want to use these in that set up.
