Review on 📿 Kumihimo Essentials and More: 24 Braided and Beaded Jewelry Projects on the Kumihimo Disk by Heather Shaw

I own dozens of beadwork books and this one is truly exceptional - even the design of the book deserves an award! I am new to 8 strand bead kumihimo and this book has clear and well illustrated answers to all my questions from choosing the right cord and fiber combination to weaving large or multiple bead sizes and including charms. and a few focus beads on the braid. Each Combs project introduces a new technique, but it's not just about "following these directions and doing what I did". For different projects she explains why it works, how to change it and how to change the length. Their many troubleshooting pages are invaluable, as are their easy-to-understand explanations of Kumihimo math. She will also show you how to arrange different colors as well as larger beads (droplets, magatama, etc.) to get different patterns. Her explanations are so clear that I feel like I'm sitting in the same room with her. I'm not the type to usually write book reviews (this is my first!) and I don't know Rebecca, but she definitely wrote a classic. sitting in the same room with her.
