Review on Sceptre E325W-2560AD DisplayPort 2560x1440 with Speakers, Adaptive Sync and 85Hz Refresh Rate HD Monitor by Travis Castillo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Too pretty for work but works great with a MacBook Pro!

I've spent countless hours looking at monitors because I spend all day staring at Excel spreadsheets and my eyes (and back!) can no longer work on my 13-inch laptop. After reading countless reviews here and elsewhere I kept coming back to this Zepter monitor. The only others rated so highly are all curved, and I wanted a flat monitor so I could mount it above my desk and not take up desk space. This is perfect for what I wanted. The ad is beautiful. Too good for my work of course, but I'm sure I could use it for 4K Netflix videos or similar if I want to see its full beauty. I've connected it to both a 2019 MacBook Pro and a 2011 MacBook Pro. It works great with both. As for the negatives, I only have 2 and I consider them minor. The sound is not outstanding, but acceptable. The song I use to evaluate the speakers jumped and stuttered when played on a 2019 MacBook Pro, but I think it may not be a monitor error as the same song played smoothly on a 2011 MacBook Pro. It's not Bose, but it's ok. He also stuttered from YouTube videos, so I might need to adjust the audio settings or something. I also wish it had a built-in webcam, or at least a USB port. I do a lot of video conferencing and I have to use a real computer instead of a monitor for this as it doesn't have anything built in and the external one I bought requires a USB connection. Maybe I can connect it to my wired keyboard? That's TBD, but I definitely wish there was a built-in camera or USB port. Nevertheless I give 5 stars. Finally, if you're worried about the backlight, don't worry. I can't even see it unless I'm working at night with no lights. It looks cool from the outside, but nothing more. It's not bright enough to be devastating (except maybe in total darkness, so if you want it for movies it may or may not be an issue). Note: In my attached photo, I haven't installed it yet and still have the shipping film on it.
