Review on 18 TB External HDD Western Digital WD Elements Desktop, USB 3.0, black by Yusri Mohd ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

Unexpectedly quiet. In general, it is not audible at work even at night (I set the copying of the backup to itra). The shutdown button automatically resets the cache to the feint, the hardware analogue of "safe removal". Devices of this capacity are expected to have a USB 3.1 interface with a USB-C cable, but this is still the last century. The average write speed to disk is 40mb/s. Inside there is a WDC WD140EDFZ-11A0VA0 - if you take it out and put it in the computer, then only through the molex, or glue the third pin. Actual volume - 12.7Gb (14.000.483.987.456 bytes)

Pros
  • Very quiet. Large capacity. Off button on the case. Reasonable trade-off volume/price.
Cons
  • The vertical position of the device. Obsolete USB 3.0 interface with Micro-USB cable (Wide) Therefore slow. A bright light bulb - an indicator of work, non-switchable, had to be sealed with electrical tape.
