Best-in-class wireless all-in-one mobile scanner

I have a Fujitsu ix500 scanner that works with my desktop computer home, this is the best scanner I have ever used. However, I needed a portable scanner that I could use with my laptop while working out of state. I didn't hesitate to order this Fujitsu ScanSnap ix100 Wireless Mobile Scanner for this purpose. The scanner comes in a secure package and includes installation software and a USB cable. The scanner is surprisingly small and is powered by a lithium-ion battery that charges via USB. A power adapter isn't included, so you'll either need to charge it on your computer or use a third-party power adapter to charge it via USB (I only use the one I use for my iPad and iPhone). The battery needs to be fully charged before using the scanner, so I just charged it overnight and was ready to go. The installation software gives you the option to install it from the disc provided or download the latest version. I decided to download the latest version which takes up a lot of disk space and takes a long time to download and install even with high speed broadband wifi. Additional software for OCR scanning and interfaces to various services such as Dropbox and Evernote can also be downloaded free of charge from the Fujitsu website during installation. I had no trouble downloading and installing all of the software on my Windows 10 HP Pavilion laptop and the scanner was up and running quickly. To turn on the scanner, simply lower and open the front cover. The blue backlit button on the right indicates the scanner is on and ready to use. You simply place a document or receipt in the scanner slot and press the blue button. Scanning is very fast. A dialog box opens where you can scan more pages or finish scanning. The software can be configured to automatically scan to a specific folder or to an application such as Word or Excel. The scanner does not scan on both sides (you have to flip and scan two-sided documents), but it can scan two receipts side by side at the same time. There is software for organizing receipts, but I find it cumbersome and cumbersome to use and prefer to use the ScanSnap organizer instead. Unlike the Fujitsu ix500 scanner, there is no support pad for scanning photos or documents with jagged edges (sold separately from Fujitsu if required). The coolest feature of this scanner, at least for me, is the ability to scan a document directly over the wireless network. on iPad or iPhone. Just download and install the ScanSnap app from the App Store. When you start the app, it recognizes the scanner and allows you to control the scanner with the app. The app is a little cumbersome to use and really needs improvement (you have to go through a few steps before scanning to name the file and change it every time you want to scan a different document), but it's still extremely useful for you to scan something mobile device. Thus, the Fujitsu ix100 is an excellent wireless mobile scanner, very fast and versatile. Yes, it's more expensive than other similar wireless scanners, but worth the higher price.
