Review on πŸ” Canon EOS SLR Cameras EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens - Bulk Packaging (White Box) by Bao Ha ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was surprised by the quality for the price.

An excellent general purpose lens. Before that, there were 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 + Converter 2x well and aperture 50 1.4 I shoot mainly on trips and on the road and not in the studio, the issue of weight and versatility has become an edge. I sold all the zooms and took one universal, well, I left fifty kopecks. the glass is really good. Compared to the 24-70 that I got: Weight is a third lighter (this is important if the shooting lasts 2-3 hours, the fingers slowly fall off) Large FR, 3-stop stub. Speaking of 2.8, my copy was "very sharp" with 3.5 and this difference still doesn't help in really dark places. Only puff. The zoom ring 24-105 is tighter, but the trunk does not roll out under the weight. The hood is smaller, more comfortable. Bokeh is slightly better at 24-70, but not dramatically (I repeat at 2.8 there is a little soap, therefore I used it at 3.5) Chromatics are 24-70 less. And there are almost no barrels at 24-70, although it is very easy to edit. I did not notice any obvious vignetting either there or there. Only at 70-200 is it noticeable (with a converter in twins) The corners are not soapy, not dark. Stub really helps out in critical situations. On the long end, you can shoot 1 \ 30s. As for the quality of the picture (resolution, detail, sharpness, colors), the picture is excellent. No worse than 24-70. But both of them merge the 70-200 2.8 lens only better with fixes. Excellent glass. One of the most versatile and harmonious in terms of price-quality ratio (although for me the question of price when buying was not at all). It seems to many that aperture 24-70 is better . I will not convince you. They are just different for different tasks. Everyone chooses what is best for him. Weight, lack of a stub, short FR and price negate its advantages. Well, if you prefer exceptional quality, then fixes will help you. No zoom will give such quality. That's why I left the good old fifty dollars.

Pros
  • Light, durable, versatile, colorful, Excellent detail on 5DMK2, sharp from 4, the stub really helps out (within reasonable limits, of course), focuses quickly, accurately. Relatively not expensive.
Cons
  • 24-40mm barrel, Decent chromaticity comes out up to f 5
