Nice book but

First of all I love this book. It's well designed. The instructions are clear. Each part is something I will try. Kudos to the author for his excellent work. Okay, the only problem I have is the following statement. "Jewelry designs in KUMIHIMO BASICS & BEYOND are the copyrighted property of the author and may not be transferred or sold without permission. Please use them for your own learning and enjoyment only. First, let me say that I'm a retired librarian and I know a little bit about copyright protection and believe in it. There are no copyright issues with this book from start to finish. No, you can't copy it Sell parts of it, use it as the basis for a lesson. Simply good. Exactly what copyright should do. Three cheers for you. But then everything goes terribly wrong. The designs within are your interpretations of existing designs. You may have used unique colors in each project, but how do you even know? I have many Kumihimo books with projects like yours. In fact, if I were you, I would be concerned about copyrighting any of the designs you submitted. They are everywhere. What you did best was writing and a great learning tool for Kumihimo. That you can be proud of copyright. The rest, seriously? Kumihimo has been around for a very long time. I dare say that there are no original ideas anywhere. the protection of copyright, that do not belong to you defeats the purpose of copyright.
