Review on Stream Your Music In Style With Teac MCD800CH All-In-One Turntable Bluetooth Speaker System In Black by Rob Marsh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wow-LP P1000 on my review.

Having not grown up through the years where record players were the main option of listening to music (I grew up through the era of cassette tapes, cds, and now MP3 downloads through to my early adult life), going on a search for a valuable record player proved challenging, especially through the internet. Many record players are aimed for style and not substance and are geared at young adults like myself who know little about record players. Through blurry hours spent reading different reviews, I came across the TEAC website and found this gem, and found a link to it through an upgraded option on a search result for the TEAC D800. Seeing it was on sale and with Christmas well on the way, I took a chance and ordered it.On Christmas morning my dad and I unpacked it, read the manual and had it put together in a short amount of time. I grabbed my record collection, put on some Simon and Garfunkel, and could not believe the sound quality coming through the wooden speakers. However, through the default audio settings, the bass is rather weak. I couldn't find a button on the system itself, but there is a sound button on the remote control. I highly recommend playing with the equalizer and setting the bass to +5 and the treble to +2 or +3. Before when I thought the sound quality was good, I was blown away after making this switch in the setting. While I have nothing to compare this player to, my dad was extremely pleased with the quality of this system (it reminds him of one he had back in the 70s) and my parents highly regret throwing away their old records now. The oldest records I have picked up sound better than my dad's brand new ones he would play, dad told me. Most of you reading this will not need this bit of information, but if you are in similar shoes that I am in, I highly recommend ordering some of Revain's microfiber cloths (they come in a pack of 3) and some RCA D4+ vinyl cleaning solution to clean off the vinyl right before you play it. I saved a few bucks ordering these two items rather than a vinyl cleaning kit.I don't believe I could have received a better record player for my Christmas gift and highly recommend this system to experienced vinyl listeners and non experienced ones.

Pros
  • Portable Audio & Video
Cons
  • The system may not be durable and could break with frequent use
