I purchased the most recent edition of the CUH 7208B, which is said to be the quietest. The coolers themselves are quite quiet; you are able to hear them faintly without straining your ears. Then, though, there came a revolting crackling sound of chokes. Even with the TV on in the background, someone standing 2.5 meters away is still able to hear it. It is not particularly loud, but it is highly disagreeable and irritating. According to Sony's technical assistance, this does not constitute a defect. I addressed my question to the employee of the technical support team directly and said, "What should I do? The noise is not loud, and in some areas it is hardly heard, but I don't like it, and it's unpleasant. Should I put up with it and bear it? They responded to my question by saying, "Well, roughly speaking, yes."I can't believe it. I have always been a supporter of Sony. Beginning with the first PlayStation, which I still own! I also have PS3, PS4 fatka. TVs and smartphones made by Sony. And I have always admired the quality of their equipment, to the point where I was willing to overlook any software issues that arose. But this is it; this is the final straw. This is not the degree of quality one would expect from a respectable Japanese brand because the product's quality is on par with that of cheap garbage made in China, and the company views this as the usual rather than a flaw. I am disappointed.
