Review on Sceptre E275B-FPT165 DisplayPort Monitor with FreeSync, Flicker-Free, Frameless Design, and Built-In Speakers. by Ryan Bradford

The sound quality is very bad

I bought 2 Scepter 27 monitors as an upgrade to a 32" Samsung TV I was using. First, the reason for the change was that the 32's were too big for being close to my monitors (around 24-30 inches). low refresh rate, resulting in a lot of screen cracking. After hooking up two new monitors and connecting them with the supplied DP cable, I turned everything on and went to Youtube to test the audio. After playing 9 different songs to test different sound settings, messing around with NVIDIA sound settings and Windows sound settings, I found that -1. No fundamental at all 2. Volume up to 100% in all available settings = still can't hear what's being played only 24-30 inches away if there is any background noise at all. I contacted tech support who gave me very specific information. Videos featuring Taylor Swift to play, record and email. After that, they stated that the sound quality I received was at the level I expected for these monitors and that I shouldn't expect much from speakers that don't have a main channel and are only 2 watts of power. I personally found this very disappointing given the advertised sound quality and I quote the built in speakers. Perfect for work or play, the built-in speakers deliver reliable, smooth sound and save space on your desk. their product sales page from the Revain website. In terms of sound quality, there's absolutely nothing that even comes close to being "reliable". For a veteran with some hearing loss, it is completely impossible to rate the sound quality of these speakers any higher than extremely poor. In terms of image quality, I see nothing wrong with this department.
