Review on Dell P2217H Professional LED Monitor - 21.5" Screen, Anti-Glare, 60Hz Refresh Rate by David Lucas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great experience so far. with 27 " Dell monitor

I ordered it from Revain and it was delivered (Sunday!) in a reasonable amount of time. I was a little skeptical that some users had had bad experiences with the quality and performance of the monitor and Dell would not purchase/service directly. However, these bad reviews accounted for a very small percentage, which is why I chose this monitor. I connected it to Windows (via HDMI connector) and Mac (Lightning to DP cable) via two different ports. Both machines work pretty well. I mainly use this monitor for documenting edits, emails, spreadsheets and some work stuff. I'm not Finnish and can't see big details of resolution issues, so I can't comment on flicker, sharpness, etc. But overall the display works very well and is very clear for my needs. I didn't have to do any settings, the display of both devices works well right after connecting the cables. Installation on the stand was VERY EASY. I'm not a hardware expert and just installing the monitor on its base was enough for me. As others have pointed out, the base, the mount, is very strong and stable. And rotate, adjust, height, angle, pan, tilt - all easily. I am very satisfied with the ergonomics. I have a similar model at work but slightly larger, a Dell monitor. One nice thing about this (probably newer model) is that the buttons on the bottom right of the monitor for input source selection and other settings are slightly raised; like a little button on the frame. This makes it very useful to know that you are selecting an input. (So you have to choose them carefully, unlike the similar monitor I have at work where these inputs are cropped a bit out of the box.) The pimply little selector switch on this display is so much better! The monitor has 3 inputs, I think if I'm not mistaken - HDMI, DP and VGA. The included cable is for DP but it doesn't work for my Mac where I need a lightning connector (mini-DP?) for the DP cable. I had to get one outside which was kind of annoying. It would be better if Dell added an extra cable for Mac usage. At $225, this monitor is worth the money.
