Some irksome limitations

First, the non-Pro Switch (red LED) mode cannot be activated. ever, even with updated firmware (M:V1.06/S:V1.22). Instead it shows the white LED (SEGA/NEOGEO) twice while cycling through. It also ALWAYS starts in white LED mode (as opposed to simply starting up in the previously-used mode, then changing if necessary). This means devices that aren't SEGA/NEOGEO always initially detect a useless controller, which then disconnects and in a moment is replaced by the correct controller type; VERY sloppy. And device switching is tedious: a 7-point sliding switch would have been far more ideal. LED also never stops blinking with a USB controller, which is obnoxious and distracting.Additionally, gyro information from Joy-cons is not transmitted despite no obvious difference between that data and gyro data from a DS4 or SPC. Wii Remote gyro data is ignored, as is the cursor data: HUGE missed opportunity when either could have been mapped to the right stick. And maybe worse: doesn't understand Mode 3 or 4 input from Mayflash's own DolphinBar! That seems another INSANE omission!Wii Remote and Joy-cons cannot be used sideways! How was that overlooked? And button mapping for both devices is ill-conceived and seemingly arbitrary. Adding/changing/removing devices connected to a Wii Remote port requires restarting the device. I've NEVER had a Wiimote adapter with that limitation! (Lack of PS3 Nav. controller support is disappointing but not surprising.)Finally, simultaneous usage of wireless and wired controllers (which was an intended use for me) does NOT simultaneously output data: when receiving USB input it stops the wireless controller's output completely (specifically its GYRO DATA)! So to reawaken my gyro, I have to press a button on the wireless controller, and lose it again the moment USB input is received.Overall, a lot of potential and what works does work well. But sloppy programming and design oversights make this at best a middling adapter.

Pros
  • Connecting devices with this wireless Bluetooth USB adapter is incredibly easy and hassle-free
Cons
  • The adapter may require frequent updates to maintain optimal performance
