Review on πŸ”’ Ultimate Notebook Security: Kensington 64050 ComboSaver Lock and Cable for PC/Mac by Wayne Moody

Not bad but don't expect much

Not bad for low theft protection but as other reviewers have noted it can be removed by damaging the cable, the lock or simply by removing it from the Kensington lock Rip out the lock connector on the computer. Because every laptop manufacturer makes a port differently, you can't blame the lock if the port is weak. However, the combination is small and more like a cheap bike lock. I bought mine for the convenience of not having a key sticking out of the cable lock I carry in my pocket. (I use the keyed model on my dock at work.) Setting up my own combination is easy, but I'm having trouble installing this lock on my T43. It turned out that the end of the "tail" was too long to engage my laptop's lock port, so I had to file about 1mm of the tail to get it working. Your own experiences may differ. If you really want your laptop to be theft-proof, don't leave it unattended. Period. If you need a bit of quiet during a meeting, lunch, or biography break, like all cheap cable locks, this provides enough deterrent for "opportunistic" thieves. Professionals can free your laptop in seconds. So if you work in an area where there is a lot of theft. take your laptop with you.
