Review on 📸 Fujitsu ScanSnap iX100 Black Wireless Mobile Portable Scanner - Ideal for Mac or PC by Terrance Fisher

Fujitsu's image quality is one of the best from the fi series to the ScanSnap. ix100 is no exception. I've worked in the document imaging industry for most of my career, but I've never found a simple yet inexpensive solution that works for me personally. I bought the ix100 to organize my family's receipts and documents. I wanted something very simple so as not to discourage anyone from using it. With the ScanSnap Cloud App, the ix100 becomes a standalone WiFi-enabled device. Aside from the initial setup, no computer or other device is required. I have the ix100 on my counter and when everyone gets home they scan their receipts and documents for the day. Here is our workflow.1. Once the scanner is open, it will turn on and it will take about 3 seconds to connect to WiFi. Insert the document/receipt and press the scan button.3. After the scanning is complete, press the Scan button again.4. Close the scanner to turn it off. That's all! ScanSnap Cloud takes care of the rest. Scanned documents are sorted into 4 categories and sent to specific folders in my DropBox. Unfortunately, ScanSnap Cloud does not have an OCR service. You can perform text recognition manually using the bundled ABBYY Fine Reader for ScanSnap. Or, if you're willing to shell out the extra cash for ABBYY FineReader Pro for Mac and can use the device on OSX, set up folder browsing and file recognition as they come. Advantages. Image quality Size Ease of use Cons Battery life Battery life Battery life - It's great. you can tell? I barely get my weekly receipts (about 25-35) and some papers and the battery is dead! Definitely a lot less than the 200+ letter pages that Fujitsu claims. See, I don't know if that's a bad block or maybe just old. Manufacturing date below is 2014-6. Out in 2016. How could this scanner have been idle for more than 2 years? Update: I contacted Revain and described my problem. Luckily they were willing to send another detachment. Hopefully it will be in production before the end of the year.
