Good SATA III to USB 3.0 Adapter

UPDATE (8/30/2020): Now that USB boot is enabled on the Raspberry Pi 4B (and new Raspberry Pi OS images released on 8/20/2020) .2020 released), this "blue" version of Eluteng will definitely fit. The Pi 4B is brand new hardware with a completely different boot system, and this 'blue' Eluteng adapter cable really shines with the 4B and its USB 3.0 capabilities. However, there was a report from someone claiming to have gotten it with a JMicron bridge. Chip (instead of ASMedia). I haven't been able to confirm this personally, but I think we need to be aware and pay attention as JMicron based adapters have been problematic on the Raspberry Pi 4B. UPDATE (03/03/2020): The new blue SATA version of this adapter also doesn't work to boot Raspberry Pi from USB. Compatibility is good, but not as good as the old one, and I've had a few boot crashes, although rare. Initially I didn't recommend the newer model for use with the Raspberry Pi, but after some time and testing I will recommend it again. In terms of absolute reliability and broad compatibility with different types of drives, the older model is better, but the newer model with the blue SATA connector is still very good. a firmware update is required (which is hard to find). TRIM doesn't matter if you're using it with an HDD, but for an SSD, you need TRIM support to maintain SSD performance and extend lifespan. This new blue SATA connector model works fine on my Windows 10 and Linux PC for the drive. Cloning or data transfer, and even slightly faster than the old model. An indispensable tool for every computer geek. Original review (old model with black SATA connector): This has worked well for me on a variety of computers, including booting via USB from an SSD on a Raspberry Pi3B. Tested on USB 3.0 ports on my gaming laptop running Windows 10 and Debian Linux and on USB 2.0 ports on Raspberry Pi3B(+) running Raspbian Linux. Works without additional drivers. Read/write speeds are about what I would expect from a SATA to USB 3.0 drive, so performance seems good. Compatible drives and operating systems support UASP. No complaints and I'm very happy with it, especially for the price. I also have a Sabrent USB 3.0 to SSD/2.5" SATA HDD adapter with a longer cable, but for use with my laptop I prefer the shorter cable. If you need a longer cable, the Sabrent is great too.
