Review on Ultimate Adventure Companion: Osprey Packs Escapist Daypacks Medium by Stephanie Butler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love this pack! Outdoor activities

NOTE. This review was also published on the Osprey website. OGIO laptop backpack for travel. Then I use it for day trips. I put my laptop away on this trip so I bought a proper daypack. A great idea. Escapist 32 did a great job. It was used in five campaigns ranging from 4 to 8 miles from the plains to Tuckerman Gorge in New Hampshire. For flat hikes in good weather, most backpacks will suffice. For the gorge, I needed extra clothing, more water and other items, and photo equipment. The Escapist did a fantastic job. The backpack weighed between 20 and 30 kilos and didn't cause any problems for five hikes. It was very adjustable, allowing me to change the way the pack rode and felt. Pros: Comfortable and very adjustable. Two large compartments OR one large compartment. The front zip compartment has multiple pockets. The side pockets can be stretched well. as well as a security system. Perfect for bear splashes, water etc. - Front stretch pocket works well. - A small zippered glasses pocket on the shoulder strap that fits my sunglass clip well. - Two hip belt pockets are great for small flashlights, ipods etc. - Top zip pocket which I used for glasses and travel documents - Dedicated space for a water tank. My CamelBak worked fine, but there are others. - Built-in rain cover (not used but tried). - Fits well under airplane seats both horizontally and lengthwise - I was able to attach the stem and camera tripod. with a camera attached to the outside of the package. Disadvantages - only one: need more pockets! More at the front of the zip, a few in the main compartment, 1 or 2 at the top of the zip. Suitable for a tablet case. I solved the problem of not having bags by buying some cheap makeup bags from the dollar store and using them to separate items for easier locating. All in all, I will never use the OGIO for hiking again. I will be using it for my large laptop but I always use the Osprey for hiking.
