Review on TSLA Lightweight Athletic Barefoot Minimalist Men's Shoes for Athletic by John Harvieux

Revainrating 5 out of 5

In my rating it seems good to me

My first minimalist shoe. Can't comment on durability as I've only ridden it 50 miles, if that. They appear to be decently made and look aesthetically pleasing, better than other similar shoes that I have ordered and will be returning. In normal shoes I usually feel pain in my right knee, right shinbone and some discomfort in my hips. By being careful I was able to avoid injury, but it always seems like I have to artificially influence the goal. I didn't have that kind of pain or any signs of it with them. But they hurt my feet! A better word might be pain. My legs hurt from activating new muscles. In fact, I overdid it and after a 10k run my legs were completely torn and I had to rest for a few days. Notably, I wasn't paying much attention to my steps on this particular run, so I likely injured myself through my own negligence. Anyway, my feet have recovered and that's not a problem and I'm sold in this type of shoe forever. In terms of sizing, my left foot is larger than my right, and a professional running coach fitted me into a size 11 shoe, even though I normally wear size 10 shoes. I bought this size 10 because people say the sock is big and they are true to size. They fit well but the left toe is a bit pinched on push off. For now I'm OK with that because my longest run is 8 miles, but I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes an issue at longer distances. Next time I'll take 10.5.

Pros
  • Bought these for my friend after his Merrell vape gloves ripped.
Cons
  • I liked the shoes but then I shed a tear and am sadly disappointed. I would like to know how to get a refund for the shoes.
