Review on Large SturdiBag: Flexible Pet Carrier for 2 Pets with Divided Compartments by Nicole Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This bag has everything you need to travel with your Chihuahua!

This is the best bag! 100% camouflage on demand (all valves closed) - looks like a regular gym bag, only with a hard bottom. Excellent ventilation when both side and top flaps are folded back. Most people will not want to zip up the center divider unless your pets are very small. Our two Chihuahua mixes (7lbs each) easily fit in the large undivided space (i.e. with the baffle open), although each is a little cramped with the zipper closed. So why buy a split medium instead of a regular large one? Divided trunk instead of two entry doors (one door and a fixed fabric closure). That means better ventilation. The split stretcher has two top flaps so you can stick both dogs' heads out, or open both vent flaps, or open one and close the other. The construction is solid: whoever said the bars came out most likely installed them incorrectly. It takes a real effort for me to get the rods in (although it wouldn't be the case with stronger hands): and once in the ends sit low and hold. You're not going anywhere! But if you don't place them in the guides and bearing shields, they may very well pop out and pose a hazard. I wouldn't take the chopsticks out again, although the bag folds up neatly without them. The bag comes with strong clips to secure all double zips from prying dog muzzles. Lightweight yet rigid bottom provides sagging wear. Comparison: We transported our puppies in a cheaper carrier (we had a $45 Petsfit, but the Pettom, PeakPooch, Frontpet, and Pawdle are similar). This bag only had two attachment points for a shoulder strap and was bulky. And the ground dropped. We got it because it had an extension roof that could be opened to give more space, but our dogs never really liked the extended space as it wasn't padded. It was difficult to expand the suitcase without opening up space for the dog (thus allowing escape). Additionally, dogs could unzip the zipper (on the fly! Lesson learned!), the top was not secured as well as a sturdy bag, and there was no closed flap for the top. and only one or two colors to choose from. Overall it felt like a thinner bag.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
