Nikon Z6 compatibility and slight improvement to listed specs - 999 Photos!

This review is for the DC2 version. I have been using this remote with my Nikon Z6 camera, I would expect it to behave the same for the Z7. When used as a remote shutter release for single shots or multiple shots the remote works as expected. (Multi mode requires camera to be in burst mode). In either wireless or wired mode, press the shutter button on the remote and it takes the photo. Bulb operation also works as expected (must have camera in Bulb Mode of course). Timer delay works fine as well, although the camera can do this by itself.Problems arise however, when using Interval Timer shooting (Time lapse). Programming the timer is fairly confusing and may require a trip to Youtube to watch a video on how to do it. After figuring that out, I found that at least with my Z6, you cannot use the Interval Timer in wireless mode. You have to use it wired from the remote. Exact same settings, works fine wired, will not take photos when using the wireless receiver. The wireless receiver worked in every other mode properly, but will not work for time lapse. This is not really a huge issue, but it is an inconvenience. One nice feature change since the information about this remote was created is that instead of it only taking 1-99 photos in time lapse mode (which is not really enough), the remote now allows you to do 1 - 999 photos, plus you can repeat that if needed. So you can set this up to take thousands of photos if desired.

Pros
  • The wireless remote shutter is a must-have accessory for every photographer
Cons
  • Not ideal for night shots
