Review on Small Canvas Crossbody Shoulder Bag Messenger Work Bag - MyGreen by Michael Ghosh

a significant difference between inside and outside measurements

Although I have a messenger bag and backpack, there are occasions when a bag just big enough to carry a journal, sketchbook and with pockets to organize pens and other small misc. items is needed. My journals/sketchbooks are roughly the size of a composition notebook (CN) (7.5 x 9.75 in.), so the measurements in the description (8.7 x 11 in.) seemed to make it the right choice. I liked the zippers closing the pockets and main compartment for more security. After receiving and looking it over: I do not like the lining. It's thin and, well, feels cheap. Yet, I could have lived with that as I'm none too gentle with the interior of purses/bags. Removing the lining with a seam ripper would've been a happy compromise. Canvas is good material. And overall, the item is attractive; the canvas is sturdy and the construction appears to be something that will last a long time. The size is why the product was returned. Although the outside measurements are correct, the rounded corners and inside seams decrease the interior size. One CN barely fits. The bag material has to be worked around the corners of the CN and then the zipper. Which means whenever the notebook is put in or taken out, it'll be a struggle. Just putting it back in may require taking stuff out to make it fit. Who knows what kind of strain this will put on the bag's material or the plastic zipper.
