Review on High-Quality Canon LiDE110 Color Image Scanner: Limited Stock Available! by Omar Alradwan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The Mac user was about to return it. (But I threw the box away)

Made cheaply - consistent noise. BUT, it just didn't work. I keep getting the error "Unblock". Completely reinstalled the software. more "unlock" errors. What you weren't told is that it must be connected directly to your Mac. .in my case iMac. There are so few USB ports that I have 5 USB subports with no power. to connect most devices. The scanner was not receiving enough power. Most modern devices will show you this on the screen; "There is not enough power to operate this device." After plugging it into the back of the iMac, everything worked fine. I don't use Canon software, only Mac. The scanner takes nice big (increase DPI) and sharp pictures. I'm a canon lover. I have four of their cameras and one of their best lenses." You shouldn't be swimming at the bottom of that pond. Correction: A few days later I discovered a new bug - the connection drops after I put my iMac to sleep. Refuses to listen to the computer. The "workaround" (we old Mac users are used to looking for workarounds) is to simply unplug the USB cable on the back of the scanner and plug it back in. It will be new started. And I can do today's scan. I'll probably get rid of it. Even as humble as I am, I can only take so much. The 10-12 year old scanner I threw in the trash didn't have these problems - his screen just went opaque Jim I've also ordered another active USB extension cable March 21st The new self powered hub (pluggable 10 ports) works great - I wish I did would have done that a long time ago. I would like to change my rating to -1 star. This POC "requires" that I turn it off every time I put my iMac to sleep. I ran Disk Repair and found that the software set a number of permissions incorrectly. It makes beautiful (inverted) images. But as soon as I forget it's new, I throw it in the trash and buy something that works well with my system. Jim
