Review on Rust-Oleum 293515 Rocksolid Polycuramine Garage Floor Coating, 2.5 Car Kit, Tan by Damion Pasquale

Love the finishing look, but need more to cover rough floor

This is my first time working with epoxy coating for garage floor. The total process time is longer than I thought, but overall is very good experience and learn a lot. When I do my other garage it will be must faster!I use this Rocksoild 1 car kit for my 210 sq ft one car garage, the garage is 60 years old concrete with very rough surface. The description says good for 200 to 250 sq ft coverage. Initially I thought is good enough. But after I did many research online, and found many have say is not enough to cover as what they claim. I think is all depends on the surface condition. Smooth surface need less, but since I have a very rough concrete surface, So I don’t want to take the chance that I have a half-baked project. So I ran to Home Depot to get another 1 car kit. It turns out I was right.Applying the coating is easy, but the preparation is the most important step. I ended up wash the floor 3x with heavy duty degreaser, etching 1x, waited 2 days to dry then apply moisture stop. Waited another 3 days for the floor completely dry, then use the Rust-Oleum concrete patch for patching. Waited 24 hours to dry, then apply the Rocksolid coat, after 24 hours to dry, then finished with the Rocksolid clear coat with 2 bags of Anti Sand mix-in when apply, 1 bag Anti Sand sprinkling on top. Total takes me 8 days to finish the project. The floor does show the texture different between the concrete and the patch from the Rust Oleum patch even I have a thick coat on it. I think the only way to make the floor look the same, I need to put on two thick coat instead of one. But this will cost 4 kits (or 2 kits of 2 cars garage). I am ok right now, but other if you really care the surface of the floor look the same smooth as water. Don’t use the use the Rust Oleum Epoxyshield concrete patch or coated many times.I really like the finished floor, Now is time trial to see how they holding up. I am confident that I done things correct, so the floor should hold up for many years without chipping or crack!
