Review on Ficihp P2 Portable Plug and Play Extender - Compatible with 12.01" Displays, 1920X1080P, 60Hz by Paul Mathis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as it seemed

(UPDATE: read below): Serious problems with this product (Tri-Monitor product). Firstly, the description doesn't say that you might need 4 (or maybe 5) cables connected between the screens and your laptop for this to work. Also, the description doesn't say that many USB-C ports will NOT work with an attached monitor, that is provided you have AT LEAST 2 open USB-C ports to use. If you don't have one, or your USB-C ports don't work well with your monitor, you'll need 2 open HDMI ports on your laptop (and who has them?), plus 2 additional ports (USB-C or USB-A) to power the displays . The product itself attaches to the laptop fairly well and folds as advertised. But what good is that if you can't get the screens to work or need 4-5 cables to work with the device (assuming you have open ports on your laptop?) UPDATE: The seller contacted me and is trying to fix that Solve a problem ; However, the problem is that my USB-C port (like many laptops) has a "power-only" USB-C port and cannot receive video. To be fair, the vendor has now updated the list to explain this issue more clearly and tested several times to see if they can get things working. So I give this device 3 stars because if it works then it's a good mobile solution. The video displays are crisp and clear, and it's easy to connect to your computer. They didn't seem to reduce my computer's battery life too much. However, keep in mind that you may need a lot of cables for this to work properly. So it's not perfect, but it's a good solution.
