Review on Panasonic SL MP80 CD MP3 Player by Martin Dosunmu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Technology Versatility

It claims to play all three: CD Audio, MP3 and WMA! I had my doubts at first, but once I got past the WMA copy protection and variable bitrate issue, voila! DO NOT use Windows Media's variable bitrate recording option for WMA. IMHO, this is really sophisticated electronics with so much versatility and portability. - Standard AA batteries, at least for MP3 and WMA. Three EQ preset options include S-XBS (Bass Booster), LIVE, and Blank/Standard. The LIVE setting is HI-FI when used in a number recorded in front of a live audience and to me it sounds like the listener is in the front row of a concert. 3D? But a word of caution: I am a mature adult and treat this device with the care that such technology deserves. I'm afraid my young adult son will break it in a few days; don't ride it in your pocket! ;-) Also read the manual! The player has other limitations, but they are listed in black and white. Finally, I just made ONE CD with 122 songs! For me it is very compact. (In case you don't know, this is my first experience with a portable MP3 player.)
