Review on Motorola Moto Z2 Play Smartphone by Yusri Mohd ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The purchase brought only positive emotions.

I had to buy a Z2 play to replace the lost Z play. I bought a new one, complete with JBL Soundboost2, for 16k. Works, ated to 8, waiting for 9. In general, the device is not bad. If this is your first motorola of the z-series, then it will definitely not disappoint you. If there were previous versions, then how lucky, well, depending on what is important to you. There is a slight difference in the size and depth of the camera bump. Here the camera protrudes the essence more, maybe by 0.5 mm, and the base is slightly wider, while the upper part of the camera cone is slightly narrower. As a result, the Chinese panel at the top of the phone is a little loose, and the stock wood panels collect dirt around the camera. This is not so critical, and it may well be that I was just unlucky with the panels. I can summarize this: despite the fact that the Z2 play model is newer than the Z play, it is inferior to it in almost everything. And if you are considering Z2 play as a replacement for any of the first generation Z-series phones, then this is not your choice. Take immediately Z3 or Z4.

Pros
  • The OS can be immediately attributed to the advantages of the device: pure android 8, as a result, does not slow down and is ated (more on this below), there is no software garbage, except for applications from Motorola, and support for moto mods, but this is of course a moot point. In terms of design - there is already someone like it. But one cannot but admit that such a screen (we are talking about the shape and location, and not about performance characteristics) in 2022 looks outdated, although it is convenient to use. The fingerprint is fast and it supports gestures, so you can get rid of the on-screen buttons. incredible, but we are promised as much as 9 android, and this is just a year after the release.
Cons
  • First, let's talk about design, this is a slippery question, to each his own, but still. I have the Lunar gray color, the edging in this color looks chic, although it scratches once or twice. But the aluminum back panel in this color looks so cheap that it’s just terrible, the glass in Z play was better. I also don’t really like the design of the fingerprint sensor, it’s probably more convenient for gestures, but outwardly it doesn’t look as good as in the old version. Although Z play did not support gestures in this way. Hidden light sensor, and it's not clear where the proximity sensor is. This makes the front bezel too simple and cheap looking, but the phone isn't cheap, let's be realistic. The battery is a pain. especially after Z play. It is very difficult to live here for two days with a load. The camera, subjectively, shoots worse than Z play and honor 10 lite, although there are no questions about speed and ease of use. A very serious cant is the processor: here again a 64-bit processor with a block to work only in 32-bit mode. Of course, there are OS builds for the phone in 64-bit version, but all this will deprive you of security ates from Google, Motomods support, ates from Motorola and Gpay. Of course, all this is solvable, but for me this is a drawback. If you roll third-party firmware, then the problem with the camera is solved by installing Gcam. Sometimes I pop up jambs in the software responsible for the work of motomods. But Lenovo technical support helps to solve a lot. Motoscreen, a very handy thing, works slower here.
