The app managed to catch a 5 second clip of someone closing my front door and I received a sound alert at around 2:00pm. The video clip did not show a person just the door closing. As I had been out of the house for 5 hours and was 25 miles away at the time and live alone, the obvious concern is that someone had broken in my home. I called my police department and requested an officer to respond and drove home as quickly as possible. The officer checked out my duplex and nothing seemed to have been touched. I called my landlord and confirmed they had not gone inside. I then spent an hour or more reviewing the video I had saved to the cloud. The sound alert had disappeared from the app as well as the motion alert. I then called customer service for some trouble shooting. The CSR couldn’t even understand what I was explaining to her. The only suggestion she had was to film 24/7 going forward. It was a complete waste of time.After I hung up I came to the conclusion the door closing was a snippet of myself closing the door at 10:00am when I left and it timestamped it five hours later. Although the police officer was very professional and polite I feel that I wasted public resources. I also was extremely upset while driving home as my two senior cats were home alone. I have insurance for the stuff but nothing can replace my fur babies. Also I had been dealing with a relative in the hospital and had to leave to check my home. Kudos to ebay for giving me a refund but I will NEVER buy this product again. I basically called the police on myself thanks to this garbage product.
