10.1 Installing Android 2006 F250 F350 F150

I bought a 10.1 inch Android stereo to give my 2006 F250 a backup camera and some new car options. For the price and everything it can do, it gets 5 stars. I am posting some photos from the installation. The instructions are not very good. But with so many different possible applications, this would be impossible. You can clearly see what I did. I added holes on each side of the mounting kit for the brackets, which I painted black to hide (painted the screws too). I used the screws with nylon insert nuts so they wouldn't come out when the metal brackets went into the plastic stereo -Mounting kit to be installed. Tighten them just enough so that you can move them with some force. The front of the screw gap installation kit, once I installed the stereo, I moved it back to completely cover the hole behind the stereo. See the pictures for details. I used the black and pink wire for the rear camera on the stereo wire and tied to the taillight to power the camera itself. The install kit is flimsy and fairly flimsy until you install it in the dash and install the 4 screws that attach the stereo to the metal brackets. I only used 4 screws to attach the brackets to the installation kit because I wanted to tilt the stereo if needed. After installing the screws holding the stereo to the brackets, I moved the stereo closer to the dash and eliminated most of the gap. Hope that helps. Tip: Leave the clear protective film on the stereo until you're done installing to avoid scratching the front of the stereo.
