Review on πŸŽ₯ Logitech C270 Webcam: Crystal Clear Video and Superior Quality by Micha Maciejowicz ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm satisfied with it, there are only some small flaws.

Among my responsibilities was the creation of a training film as well as Skype communication. After carefully considering all of the available alternatives, I decided that this particular model offered the best balance of cost and value. The fact that the video was doggedly recorded at a rate of no greater than 15 frames per second, which results in a picture that is hazy during movement, movement that is jerky, etc., significantly detracted from the overall image. The fact that Logitech's native video recording tool only recorded video and not sound made the issue even more difficult to fix (I neglected to mention that I am using a 64-bit version of Windows 7). It turned out that the issue was with the software itself (Logitech Webcam Software version 2.51 rev. 13.51.828), whereas other apps, including Skype, were able to receive sound without any issues. If this is an issue for you, then feel free to cancel the show, and whatever you do, don't sin in front of the camera. The problem with 15 frames per second was resolved by making a few simple adjustments, which are as follows: 1. Before beginning recording, head into the camera's settings and deactivate the RightLight option. 2. When it came to recording, I found that the Potplayer (version 64 Bits) program was the greatest alternative available among the free apps. It was discovered that in addition to being a sumptuous player for any type of media, it is also equipped with exceptional recording capabilities, both from a webcam and from a screen. Therefore, it is strongly suggested. After mucking about with the settings for a while, I sat down and composed a widescreen film in 480p with 30 frames per second. Additionally, the application is capable of writing in a variety of formats. In my experience, the generated MKV file had a size of approximately 22-23 MB per minute of recording in acceptable quality, which is a respectable amount for subsequent processing.

Pros
  • Excellent picture quality, excellent sensor sensitivity even in low light (with only mild noise), and excellent sound quality.
Cons
  • There are hardly none available at this pricing point. Except for the fact that the wire that is close to the USB connector appears to be made of fragile material and may cause issues in the future. In my situation, it would be really helpful to be able to put the camera on a tripod; however, I have not encountered this feature in any cameras in this price range:
