Review on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 225/55 R17 97Y summer by Momchil Vasilev ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not the best quality, but overall not bad.

After reading the positive reviews here, I decided to save a little and take these tires instead of the usual Kontik / Bridge, size 225/45 R17. Savings went sideways, spent on tire fitting was more than the difference in price. There are no complaints about the handling of the tires, on dry pavement it is perfect, on wet it is quite normal, the tendency to hydroplaning is minimal, the braking distance is short. But why do these tires get such high marks for durability and wear resistance? In fact: 2 seasons and for emissions, despite the fact that the mileage per season does not exceed 8-10 tkm. Wear resistance is still all right, in principle, another season would have departed. But there is absolutely no strength, especially on the sidewalls. One drive along slightly protruding rails - minus 2 wheels, ran sideways onto a curb - a hernia, got into a small hole - a hernia, drove 500m on a flat tire until the first opportunity to stop - the tire was worn out completely for replacement. Summary: the tires may not be bad in terms of driving characteristics, but they are definitely not designed for roads.

Pros
  • - price - manageability
Cons
  • - strength - wear resistance
