I bought them for 12 hour shifts in the operating room, standing in one position on my feet for several hours, which is much more taxing on my joints than lying on my foot . be able to walk. My knees and back used to hurt the last few hours of my shift. The first day in them, and the pain decreased. No blistering or discomfort from 12 hour wear the first time you put it on. The instep is medium I would say, not too high but not too flat either which is perfect for my legs. They have good cushion, they don't feel springy, but they have an almost gel-like cushion. The material is easy to clean with sled cloths (cleaning cloths). There are absolutely no complaints about them. I would recommend them to anyone working in the medical field or any other profession that requires long hours on their feet.
