Review on PCDart by John Chembola
PCDart has been helping us manage our herd health.
We've had great success with them over the last two years. They have the right people, the right software and the right attitude to make it happen. It's worth looking into if you're serious about managing your herds health. It is pretty pricey though. I would recommend this product if you have multiple breeds and want help tracking the results from different tests as well as having an online presence to share data easily. A good management tool will allow you to track everything from how many cows weigh X pounds at Y date/time, or how many milkings did a cow give per day (or per month) etc.. It will even let you set up alerts so when the weight crosses some threshold value then you get an email letting you know. If they offer any kind of reporting capability such as these stats above then it could save you hours of work each week just by knowing where things stand at any given time.
- You have a complete database of all information about your animals (breeds, dates, weights, feed intake etc).
- It provides excellent statistics.
- It provide very detailed reports of every single item of information (feed intake, weight gain, pregnancy rate etc)
- The user interface is not intuitive and hard to learn
- When I purchased the program, it came with too much information and I didn't really know what I wanted out of it.
