Review on πŸ”’ Enhance Your IT Infrastructure with the NavePoint 9U Wall Mount Network Server Cabinet: Secure Rack Enclosure with Glass Door and Lock by Jacob Ferrarini

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product, STELLAR packaging

This is a very good quality shelf. All steel is relatively heavy and there is no plastic for any structural elements. The black finish is attractive and sleek. The design is very traditional and very versatile, with detachable grommets to allow cable routing from above or below, and tool-less openings on three sides. The front door is reversible. Everything is quite simple, but also solid. All in all, this is a good package. Assembly is easy and painless if you know even a little about the mechanics. The instructions are clearly illustrated and appear to have been written by a native English speaker. All you need is a 5mm allen key (a poor quality but workable sample is included) and a Phillips screwdriver. What really sets this product apart from other rack products is the packaging. The packaging is absolutely exquisite, as good as any product I have ever received. The packaging usually has nothing to do with the actual product, other than that server racks are notorious for being damaged in transit. NavePoint has done its best to mitigate this. The outer box of mine arrived completely destroyed by the usual FedEx shenanigans, literally ripped clean. However, the product inside remained undamaged, as solid blocks of open-cell foam filled every possible void and excess layers of thick cardboard covered all panels. The widespread use of foam blocks meant not only did the product arrive intact, but unpacking didn't make a terrible mess. The fasteners came in a separate box, sorted by purpose, each in a labeled zip-lock bag. The instructions came flat, in a protective sheet with three rings. protective film! I'm just amazed at how far this manufacturer went to go beyond the letters and dot the i in this product. Like they really care about the impression they make on the customer. Introduce yourself. The only weak point here is the possibility of wall mounting. The included wall mount seems inadequate. It's a stamped piece of 14 gauge steel. Maybe it's designed to withstand that, but personally I wouldn't want to hang more than Β£100 of very expensive gear from a couple of small ledges on a piece of 14 gauge plate. If your intended application is wall mounting with this load, you might want to consider a more robust mounting solution. Five stars overall, NavePoint did a great job with this product and I think it represents excellent value for money.
