Review on Stylish and Comfortable: Globe Castro Slip Black Charcoal Men's Loafers & Slip-Ons by Marcus Dortch

Revainrating 3 out of 5

They look good, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

So they have a very nice aesthetic and look good on my foot, but they are uncomfortable to wear for very long periods without good insoles, and (at least for my foot) they are oddly shaped with standard insoles. that don't really fit the shape of the foot. You also have to be careful with the seams at the foot end as I definitely don't think they will stand up to very active/athletic activities if that's what you were planning on wearing them for. Since Globe is a skateboard brand and I assumed a skateboarder could buy it expecting to be able to ride in it, but I wouldn't try. I don't skate but I have ex skateboarding friends and I knew a decent number of skateboarders who grew up at the height of skateboarding in the late 90's and early 2000's and I can safely say you should buy them by you Expect more casual shoes than skateboard shoes. I used to like DC Villains shoes from DC. Shoes that were similar in style to these Castro's until they released the Villain II which I felt somewhat lowered the quality of the Villian line of shoes. So after buying a few pairs of Villain IIs and really not liking them as much as my old original villains, I bought these Castros and I still don't like them as much as my original Villians... BUT they seem much more premium and more durable than the Villain II and when you put new insoles in they really make a nice everyday shoe to wear for a while.

Pros
  • I have always loved these shoes...
Cons
  • Dropped part in appearance after one day.....Return for a refund
