Review on Quadcopter DJI Mavic 2 Pro, gray by Michal Adach ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I like everything, the price and quality are acceptable.

- overheating of the battery after a flight on hot days and a long cooling down to the temperature required to start charging. It helps only the air conditioner turned on to the maximum in the glove compartment of the car and the battery thrown there to cool; - there is no way to charge the battery from an external battery (but given the power requirements of these batteries and the capabilities of conventional external cans - so far this is more of a fantasy); - there is no way to "officially" charge several batteries at the same time through DJI's proprietary hub (only through a Chinese charger from alik, which you don't really want to trust, but sometimes there is simply no other way out); - height limit of 500 meters. Apparently, protection from fools with unfulfilled dreams of large aviation. On the other hand, 500 meters is enough for the vast majority of tasks; - a protective cap of the gimbal, which is uncomfortable and scratched the top of the camera body and this is inevitable. * COMMENT I would like to write a separate paragraph about the restrictions that prohibit laws, jammers, spoofers, from which you feel more and more like in some kind of cage and less and less often you get to just be creative, enjoying this ingenious thing. But all this is clearly not a drawback of the drone itself. And the lack of people losing control by owning such equipment. TWICE in all the time for people coming up to me with the usual questions: “How much does it cost? Does it fly far? And what can you see there? ”, among others there was a completely moronic, like“ hilarious ”question“ Does it hold loads? And if you hang a bomb on him? ”. Comments are superfluous. By the way, the increased attention of others is also a kind of disadvantage, well, or a feature. But the blades cannot be called “silent”, as DJI itself advertises them. In short, the second Mavic is much more than a toy. This is a serious device for those who probably understand why he needs it. I put four based solely on my own experience associated with the sores that have appeared, which I described above. If you could close your eyes to them, it would be a solid five plus.

Pros
  • To write a detailed and useful review, I had to go beyond the frames allotted by the character limit, climbing into neighboring columns, I apologize in advance. * ADVANTAGES Of the great variety of dry catalog and advertising characteristics, the defining ones are: - a camera with an inch matrix (with a tolerable working ISO up to 800, then greenery and colorful sand) and an adjustable aperture f / 2.8 - f / 11. Amazing picture quality overall. Flexibility in post-processing of images (. DNG) and videos shot in 10-bit D-Log mode; - flight time and range, which are VERY dependent on external factors (terrain, weather, interference), but which, as a rule, are enough to solve clearly defined tasks; - the richest functionality, many interesting shooting modes (freedom for creativity), constant monitoring of the status of all systems, a lot of fine adjustments, calibration of sensors, sticks and wheels of the control panel, etc. etc. Just do not list everything. And all through the DJI GO 4 mobile app. As well as DJI GS Pro, Pix4D, Drone Deploy, and other apps for terrain mapping, 3D modeling, and other professional tasks. And everything in this little "bird"; - the possibility of fine and extremely important settings through the DJI Assistant engineering menu version 1.1.2 (vertical takeoff and landing speeds, disabling autolanding / autoreturn when the battery is low, setting Atti mode instead of Sport / Tripod, etc. ); - the size and compactness of the drone with its capabilities; - quality and durability of assembly and materials. * LIMITATIONS - obstacle sensors. You should not trust them entirely, especially in Active Track mode. A year and a half later, occasionally, but they began to lie that they see an obstacle and the drone refuses to fly, only turning off the sensors in flight helps. Later they began to ask for calibration through the Assistant, but the process hangs at 0%, I tried it on three computers. A friend had exactly the same problem, only by replacing the sensors. On level ground;
Cons
  • - radio signal strength in CE standard. Complete impotence. To achieve the declared heights and distances, you should definitely flash either the remote control or the drone in the FCC standard. By either a broken DJI GO (google Frida), or a patch from the site nolimitdronez, or the firmware of the remote control itself via jkson mod. I settled on the third option; - a year later, he stopped flying steadily in a straight line. Very often it pulls a little to the left on the yaw (Y) axis. Even just standing in the sky. Compass calibration does not help. Once, IMU calibration seemed to help, but the next time the problem recurred again. The thing is extremely unpleasant and has ruined more than one good shot; - a surprise from the control panel, which at startup began to squeak and ask for stick calibration. Calibration does not help, and the problem is treated only by restarting the remote control (and not the first time). Anyone will have such an error if you turn on the remote by holding and holding any of the sticks in any direction. It appears quite rarely, but suddenly and inexplicably. The remote control is always stored only disassembled with the sticks removed; - very rare, but software and communication lags (suddenly crashing DJI GO or a completely sudden complete break in the signal to a gray screen with the inscription Aircraft disconnected or RC Signal Lost (no real external interference such as jammers, etc. ). Depending on the situation, when it can happen, it will either be funny and strange, or very scary). Either a logical restart of DJI GO helps (in the event of a normal application crash), or, in the event of an unreasonable signal break, restarting the remote control (well, or a complete auto-return of the drone home on the RTH command and then restarting the drone with the remote control); - night shooting. An inch matrix with f / 2.8 aperture in such a crumb is already space, but definitely not the limit. If you can raise the ISO a little with a photo or set a longer shutter speed in calm weather, then everything is completely sad with video shooting. Crushing noise in post-processing is still a pleasure, far from always bringing a satisfactory result;
