When I initially tried to capture my voice using a microphone, I was under the impression that it was defective, full of the usual hissing buzz associated with a poorly calibrated device. But then I figured out that it's so sensitive that it picks up the sound of the system unit's relatively modest fan. When the microphone's sound filters are optimized, a person's voice in the recording sounds as if it were recorded from right next to you. A high-quality condenser microphone's unrealistic sensitivity isn't necessary for everyone; in fact, most people can get by with a dynamic microphone. As it turns out, I count myself among that majority.
