Although the picture looked fine, there seems to be an issue with some LG monitors and Apple MacBooks. We had a MacBook Air and when we woke up from sleep the monitor wouldn't start. When entering the display settings, the monitor sometimes worked, but with errors. Sometimes there was a glitch in the middle of the screen or white noise glitch that lasted for a minute or two. It's unfortunate because it looked great when it worked, but a good monitor should just work without having to mess around with a lot of settings at all. Maybe non-Mac users don't have a problem.
