So after about 18 months of daily wear (incl. swimming, running, cycling, etc.) the speed clamps got stuck. I disassembled the mechanism (I thought it was just dirty) and found that the two springs that cock the latch were rusted and seized. The magnet confirmed that it was carbon steel. On the other hand, it was a lot cheaper than the Garmin strap, but while that one failed after more than five years due to latex strap tears, this one failed in less than two years. If you don't wear it when swimming in salt water, your life can be longer.
