This is a strap. Cheaper than new HRM. I don't know what else to say about that - you know when you need it. It's also a good idea to have a spare strap in case the other one is still wet. The battery in the new Garmin straps lasts forever, and the plastic sensor is easy to clean and appears to be wear-resistant. However, the tape loses elasticity in places or creases. Replacement is quite easy, and the price for a new one is quite acceptable. (Garmin isn't usually known for cheap accessories, but this is an exception.)
