Problems start about 6 months later.

As with other reviewers, I really wanted to love this monitor - and for the first six months or so, I loved it. Pros (from a non-IT user): Ultra light, reasonably durable, decent display quality and price (I only paid about $130 in August 2020). Given the small footprint, it was the perfect second monitor. Cons: Over the past few months I've had issues ranging from difficulty getting a signal ("No Signal" on the display) to screen flickering, screen dimming for a few seconds, and then dimming again only after a few seconds. This led to me spending a few hours yesterday with an IT professional from the company to make sure all possible drivers were up to date. (I have a Dell laptop and unlike the other reviewer this didn't cause any problems). We tested the monitor on another computer, checked cables, ports, connections, etc. Today the monitor seems to have officially expired. All I could get was "No Signal" no matter what cable I used or where I plugged it in. Now the monitor suddenly works again. The resulting uncertainty is disappointing. Not knowing if a monitor is working or not, and how much clutter or reboots it takes to revive it, makes the workday unproductive. It looks like the current price is closer to $170, which is way too high considering the issues people are having. I haven't considered other options, but it would be better to spend more if needed and get a product that has a longer lifespan and better reliability. I haven't contacted Acer support yet, although the feedback doesn't seem encouraging either. Think carefully before spending close to $200 on something that might have problems within a year of purchase. I don't know what the extended warranty is like and how much it was extra, but if you take the plunge and buy this monitor it might help mitigate any future problems.
