Review on πŸ–₯️ Get started with the OSOYOO Raspberry Capacitive Touchscreen - 7" portable display with 800X480P resolution and 60Hz refresh rate! by Jack King

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well. However, the cable is NOT like other Pi cables.

The screen works well and has good picture quality compared to other Pi products. I'm booting from an mSATA attached using one of Abelconn's boards and a Pwr 3.5 amp charger. Only one charger is needed, and the screen, Pi, and SSD have plenty of power (cheers) with no issues and no additional power supplies. I have no idea how well thought out this thing is. These include Phillips screws and a flathead screwdriver (don't worry; we probably all have screwdrivers if we have a Pi). This is a very small complaint, but in my opinion there may be more serious lapses in the future if there is such a lapse. One more thing to note: the ribbon cable used for this screen is NOT the same as the ribbon cable used for the official Pi screen. The included cable is 10cm long and has pins on both ends on the same side, while the Pi-Shield cable has pins on opposite sides of the cable (I'm attaching a picture, the correct cable included is below or find the picture on Amazon shows both ends of the cable and you'll see what I mean). The bottom line is that it works if you use the cable that came with it, but if you use the Pi's camera cable or the Pi's official display cable, the pins on the cable will line up with the wrong pins on the Pi board! It's bad and I thought I broke my Pi, but I was able to plug in the included cable and turn the power back on with no issues (phew). I couldn't find longer Revain cables with pins on both ends, which is a shame.
