Review on πŸ“€ Toshiba BDX2000KU Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Resolution by Robert Capers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good for the price

I bought this from Revain.com on Black Friday (I caught it in that small window of opportunity when the price was $79.97). While it doesn't look like a genuine Toshiba product (it's made by Funai, as well as Magnavox, Sylvania, Philips and some Onkyo and Denon Blu-ray players), it still comes from a trusted and trusted source. The boot times are quite short, however, the device makes some noise (a lot of buzzing and buzzing) when preparing. Blu-ray playback is great - crisp and clear, with no lag or hiccups that seem to plague many other gamers (fingers crossed). The remote control is large and light, with the same intuitive design as many other Funai players. The player responds to remote control commands almost as quickly as a DVD player, much better than most Blu-ray players. The only stumbling block is SD-DVD playback. I have a Toshiba XDE-600 DVD player and it beats this Blu-Ray by far in terms of picture quality improvement. With them as a couple I have the best of both worlds. While the BDX2000 isn't the most feature-rich player out there (not including streaming options), I don't care. I do not intend to use the supported BD Live feature and am not interested in video streaming. For a basic, solid player, I'm very happy with the price I paid. In general, look for a good sale.
