Review on Keep Your Battery Fully Charged With A Smart 12V Charger/Maintainer Featuring Winter Mode by Jeff Bruno

For this kind of money, can we get a functional operator's manual?

I bought this unit on the advice of Scotty Kilmer, who is a an auto mechanic's auto mechanic. I bought this due to its desulfating abilities, and after one test, I will admit it works for that, at the very least. But for the $140 I shelled out for it, (in Feb. 2022), you'd figure they'd be able to put out an extensive manual on how to operate the desulfate function. Nope. You get the same little useless pamphlet you'd expect from a charger one tenth the price. Bear in mind, you still need a battery load tester to gauge what is wrong with your battery and a multimeter to sort out how charged up your battery is. The fact that the manual sucks and it has no general ON/OFF switch knocks it down one star.Would I buy this again? Yes. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes, if I had any. (That's a joke, folks.) But can we get an in-depth manual on how to operate this lovely piece of battery resuscitator? If you have a plethora of cadaverous wet (lead-acid) batteries sitting around, (I do), then this thing pays for itself in just a couple of resuscitations. You could, (theoretically), start a side gig bringing car batteries back to life, considering the price of batteries these days. Please note: This unit CANNOT BRING BACK TO LIFE ALL BATTERIES. If a battery has a dead cell, this unit will not bring it back, (hence the need for a multi-meter and battery load tester).Disclaimer: Playing with lead-acid batteries is DANGEROUS. It should be done in a well-lit, well ventilated area that is not going to be damaged by sulfuric acid should it splash. Always wear the correct PPE for the type of work you are performing. Eye protection and nitrile gloves should be used at the very least, shoes that completely cover your feet are also advisable. Also, when in doubt, be prepared to jump in the shower and completely wet down and wash off. You're working with SULFURIC ACID here, people.

Pros
  • Have used this several times now. Spectacular for jump starting car and h
Cons
  • May not have a built-in battery tester
