Review on Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic Microphone: Unleashing Professional Sound Quality (ATR Series) by Richard Dean

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice recordings, weak additional components

The microphone itself seems to have pretty good sound quality (although I'm admittedly a SUPER amateur), but the plastic part of the desktop tripod which has a threaded socket made of flimsy plastic and broke the FIRST time I used it (started struggling to unscrew the stand from the mic shell and it just broke after a few twists). Perhaps this is a one-off, strange anomaly. , but now I'm without the ability to support the microphone. Update: I have since returned the mic (the seller returned my purchase, no issues). One of the things I love most about this mic - and which I can't find on other products (yet) - is the mini XLR and USB-C interface for audio. This will become more common over time, but for now remains a feature I've only been able to find on this model.
